WASHINGTON COUNTY MINISTERIAL ASSOCIATION
I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling. (Ephesians 4:1-3)
As those called into the ministry of the Washington County Ministerial Association, our purpose shall be to set an example in Washington County for ministry conduct, cooperation, and devotion to Christ among and between Christian churches, and parachurch organizations of different denominational perspectives in and around our county.
We will accomplish this by:
1. Cooperating and sponsoring community wide Christian events such as: hosting a Community Good Friday Service, Day of Prayer, Christmas in July, Pack the Park, Crop Walk, Thanksgiving Meal, and other events deemed appropriate by the members.
2. Supporting one another through times of personal struggle and hardship with prayer, encouragement, counsel, and other methods of support if appropriate.
3. Welcoming new ministries and ministers to our area.
4. Informing our congregations of special events and activities available in area churches and parachurch organizations.
5. Utilizing the WCMA Good Samaritan Fund supported by area churches, private donations, and businesses, to help meet financial needs of members of our community at large as specified in Good Samaritan Fun Guidelines.
6. Staying informed of new services being provided through social services and other agencies in and around Washington County.
7. Providing weekly devotions for publication in the Washington County Enterprise newspaper.
